Illegal formula promotion in Tesco

We received many reports in January of an illegal promotion in Tesco for Nestlé SMA infant formula.

After we ran a Twitter campaign, Tesco promised Baby Milk Action that it will issue new guidance to staff.

We have also pursued the case with Trading Standards to find out what happens when you complain.

New EU rules will trick parents into buying expensive and unnecessary products that will fuel the obesity crisis

Health advocates from across Europe have decried new rules on baby formulas and foods that are being forced through by the European Commission with no time for proper consultation and expert reflection.

It is not yet too late and Baby Milk Action is working hard to improve the regulations. See our press release and analysis at:

This is the year of Tigers - help us prepare

Tigers is the 90-minute feature film by Oscar-winning director, Danis Tanovic. It is based on the true story of a former Nestlé salesman called Syed Aamir Raza who took on the company with the help of IBFAN when he realised that babies are dying as a result of his work pressuring doctors to promote formula.

It continues on the Film Festival circuit, prior to going on general release later this year.

On Friday 27 February it will be shown in Switzerland, appearing at the International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights.

Baby Milk Action will be there in Nestlé’s home country for a panel discussion alongside Syed Aamir Raza and another Nestlé whistle blower, Yasmine Motarjemi.

On Saturday 7 March it will screen at a special event in Florence organised by IBFAN Italia.

You can help us to prepare for the extra attention this film will bring to our work. See:
